With Plié to dance with the Deife.
Because where people usually prefer to look away, "Dreiviertelblut" takes a closer look with unsparing lyrics and atmospheric music. "Folklore-free folk music" is how film composer Gerd Baumann and Bananafishbones singer Sebastian Horn describe their work.
The two have been bringing timelessly beautiful songs into the world since they first met. The lyrics roam through the highs and lows of existence, winding their way from the purest happiness to the blackest despair. The love of darkness is reinforced by a penchant for crude Bavarian humor. Anyone familiar with Dreiviertelblut knows that a laughing eye is always followed by a crying eye and vice versa.
Gerd Baumann's compositions inspire Sebastian Horn's crude stories about life and death and everything in between. What emerges as a whole could best be described as "fantastic realism", far removed from traditional costume, bullishness and the "Dahoam is dahoam" feeling. The first Dreiviertelblut pieces, the "Lieder vom Unterholz", were written as film music. Sebastian Horn (lyrics) and Gerd Baumann (music) write new "old Bavarian" songs that unite folk music fans and enemies in amazement and listening. Euphoric audience reactions were the trigger to bring DREIVIERTELBLUT to the stage.
Anyone who wants to celebrate the courage and passion for life in all its facets should experience Dreiviertelblut live.
